About R. Scott Davis
R. Scott Davis is from Brooklyn New York where he received his MFA in photography from the Pratt Institute. He is now based in Bangkok Thailand, the hub of S.E. Asia, and has worked extensively on projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Indonesia.
In addition to his own photographic work, he has applied his knowledge of photography and aesthetics from his studies in New York as a university lecturer in his classrooms in SE Asia at Sripatum University, Stamford International, the Alliance Francaise and Bangkok University International.
His most recent exhibition at the BACC [Bangkok Art and Culture Center] entitled Dispatch Project was composed of images that explore the dramatic nocturnal life of Bangkok through the eyes of the local Emergency Medical Services [EMS] providers. His work exploring the forensic investigation of the CIFS [Central Institute of Forensic Science] was featured as well.
The format of the Dispatch project is rooted in the documentarian tradition of the longform immersive project with an emphasis on an inside perspective; the aesthetics of the project on the other hand operate in an experimental manner in order bring a more dynamic perspective to the narrative.
