These two images were taken in the late afternoon while adrift on a rickety rowboat in the Kompong Khleang floating village of the Tonle Sap Lake and are a diptych of sorts. They were both shot on the same day and feature a similar compositional strategy that I refer to as “sliding quadrants”. The sensation of being both locked into the space and feeling decentered at the same time is created. A similar strategy appears with my Embrace but in a completely different context.
